2014-07-05 11:38:00

Last night during the TIFFszereda film festival around 600 film fans watched The Notebook, directed by János Szász, winner of The Crystal Globe, the main award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Most of the viewers watched Szász’s war parable covered in blankets. This was the first open air projection of the festival, where also the director, János Szász and Piroska Molnár, Actress of the Nation, who plays the grandmother’s role in the film, also took part.

“It means a lot to me that we could show you the film tonight,” said director János Szász on the meeting with the public after the projection, moderated by the actor from Cluj, Áron Dimény. Szász informed the audience about the lead of the Brazilian team, referring to the fact that one of the most important matches of the World Championship was taking place at the same time with the projection of The Notebook.

“It is not the first time that I’ve come to Miercurea Ciuc. About six years ago we shot a film on the Harghita mountain (Dolina, dir. Zoltán Kamondi, editor’s note) and that summer I spent about seven weeks in this town. I have very nice memories about it. I gladly come back to those place which I used to like,” said the actress Piroska Molnár whose every sentence was given a clap. This morning at 11 a.m. the director Szász János will be the guest of the meeting with the audience on the first floor of the Arts House, where he will answer the questions of the viewers and of the press about The Notebook, also sharing some background information about film making. Alas, the actress Piroska Molnár could only spend a couple of hours in Miercurea Ciuc as she has a performance tonight in Hungary.
